Our children's ministry is all about equipping kids to know, grow, and show God's love! Focusing on that our goal for our Sunday School this year is for kids to be able to share the basic Bible story outline from Genesis to the Gospels. And for kids to be comfortable with spontaneous prayer both private and public. Our Sunday School currently uses Faithweaver curriculum. We have a 3 year olds through kindergarten class, a 1st- 2nd grade class, and a 3rd-5th grade class. Our
Sunday School takes place in Bethlehem's preschool building, just west of the main building, and run from 9:45 to 10:45 am each Sunday. We begin with an opening for all the kids focusing on the story of the day which can include puppets, drama, drawings, singing and more. We have two teachers for each class. Our classes are very active and include crafts, song, hide and seek, sometimes snacks, and movies too!
We have lots of take home sheets and e-mails that go to parents to encourage discussion based on the lesson throughout the week. We do have a medical form we'd love for you to fill out before you come just so we can guarantee your child's health and safety something we take very seriously. We care about your kids and love that you let us work with you to encourage their faith each week! Download a Sunday School Registration form here.
For 25+ years, Bethlehem has offered a quality early childhood program to families of the congregation and the community. Several years ago, a new building was dedicated for this purpose. To learn more about the program, see the ECC website.
Bethlehem is a member of the Westside Lutheran School Association, which operates Forest Hills Lutheran Christian School, southwest of Hillsboro. The school offers an accredited Preschool-8th grade program with a strong spiritual emphasis. See the school's website for information. Forest Hills also operates a satellite primary grade program at Bethlehem, offering a half day kindergarten in the 2014-15 school year. A multiage K-2 class will open in the Fall of 2015.
